Doris Hammer, age 85, died peacefully at her home on August 28, 2010. She was born on November 1, 1924, in Bravo, MI, to Loren & Mona (Kelsey) Barnes. Doris married Frank "Bob" Hammer in November of 1940, he preceded her in death in 1993. Doris and Bob owned and operated the Bravo Store for many years, before selling it in 1969. She was very driven and worked also as a real estate agent and a medical secretary. Doris attended the Trinity Lutheran Church in Paw Paw. Her family includes her son, Dennis Hammer of Pullman; daughter, Bobbi Sue Cook of Bloomingdale; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Everett Barnes, and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and her son Daniel. Friends may visit with Doris' family on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, from 4-7 PM at the Chappell Funeral Home, Fennville, where her service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM, with Reverend Mark Whittaker officiating.
