Dora Anne Scudder, age 75, passed away peacefully Monday evening, April 30, 2012 at her home in Holland, surrounded by family. Born August 4, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of James and Johanna (Geerling) Allan. Dora met Jimmie D. Scudder while they were serving in the US Army. They were married on Jan. 12, 1957, in Chapel 17 at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. She lived in Fennville for many years and worked at the old Citizen's Bank downtown. She went on to retire from Life Savers in Holland in 1998 after 17 years. Surviving is her husband of 55 years, Jimmie D. Scudder Sr. of Holland, children; Jimmie Jr. and Angela Scudder of Holland, Doug and Deb Scudder of Fostoria, OH, and Audrey Giddings-White of Zeeland. Dora was a loving Grandma and Nana to; Chloe, Alison, Amy, Jennifer, Donovan, Palmer, and Logan, who were the "light of her life". She is also survived by her brothers; James "Butch" Jr. and Pat Allan of Newport, Rhode Island, and Doug and Betty Allan of Holland. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI. A private burial service will be held at the Fennville Cemetery.
