Donald Lee Allen, age 61, of Fennville, died suddenly November 20, 2009, at his home in Fennville. Born May 16, 1948 in Dexter, MIssouri, he was the son of William and Alice (Worthington) Allen. Donald was a US Navy veteran surviving in Vietnam, and a member of the Fennville V.F.W. Post # 7911. Donald was a former heavy equipment operator, retiring because of health problems. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Charles William Allen. He is survived by his children; Johnny Allen and Jennifer Lynn Hurley, brother, Robert and Bonnie Allen of Holland, and sisters; Eva and Joe Posada of Allegan, Nella and Glenn Griffin of Searcy, Arkansas, Barbara Loveless of Fennville, Wilma Faye Snyder of Bartlet, IL and Karen and Danny Sprouse of Fennville, and also several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Chappell Funeral Home in Fennville. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Myers officiating. Burial will be in Fennville Cemetery.
