Debra Sue Hutchins 66, beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Grandma to many, passed away on June 6, 2024. Debra was born on June 28, 1957, in Hammond Indiana to parents Paul Edward Hapke Sr and Alice Patricia Davoren, who instilled in her strong sense of compassion and determination. Debra's legacy is one that will forever be cherished by those who knew her. Her unwavering dedication to caring for children led her to establish a licensed home daycare where she nurtured and guided countless young minds for an astonishing 36 years.
On May 22,1984, Debra at the age of 26 gave birth to a daughter Alicia (Rocky) Knapp-Hapke in Holland Michigan. Debra met David Earl Hutchins in Fennville Mi and they were married on October 4, 1986. On November 2, 1987. David Adopted Debras daughter and Alicias last name was changed to Hutchins. Debra was known to many in the Fennville community and was even named the First Hobo Queen at the city of Fennville Hobo Days Celebration. Her dedication to the Community continued and she became the first female firefighter of Lee Township.
Those who are left to honor her memory are her daughter Alicia (Jessica Starrett) Hutchins, Tammy (Duncan) Mouw, Sister's, Kathy (Chuck) Pumnea, and Janice (Bruce) Taylor, along with several nieces and nephews, and many children that called her grandma. Debra proceeded in death by three siblings Pam Rawson, Linda Boyles, and Paul Hapke II.
A Celebration of life will be held in her honor at a future date.
