Carolyn Sue Bautista, a beacon of unwavering love and generosity, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in Kalamazoo, MI, at the age of 75. Born on May 4, 1949, in Muskegon, MI, Carolyn's life was marked by her selfless nature and an enduring commitment to her family and community.
Carolyn's journey through life was shared with her devoted husband of over 45 years, Simon Bautista. Together, they created a legacy of love and kindness that is carried on through their children, Wendy Sue Salazar (Angel Martinez), Jillian (Jose) Romero also Teressa(Keith)Kovanda and Julie(Shawn)Hall, and by the light of their grandchildren, Jessica Fe Lockett, Jesse Salazar Jr., Davin Romero, Jadan Romero, Nicole Seevers, Kevin Seevers, Cameron Willard, and Kayla Willard, as well as their cherished five great-grandchildren. Carolyn also helped raise her nephew Jake Otero Bautista. Carolyn was a beloved sister to Jack Wolffis and her twin, Marolyn Lou Lynn. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Jack and Helen Wolffis, Her dear son, Kenneth J. Willard, and her siblings, Jane Andree, James Wolffis, Patricia Wolffis, and Glen Wolffis.
Carolyn's passion for life was evident through her varied interests and pursuits. She dedicated two years to beauty school, which reflected her artistic side and her love for nurturing others' confidence. Carolyn's fluency in Spanish was a testament to her desire to connect with more people and cultures, which she did effortlessly through her work with the WIC program, helping countless families and children.
Those who knew Carolyn will remember her for the warmth of her kitchen, where she loved to cook and share her culinary creations with everyone around her. Her generous spirit extended beyond her home and into her community, where she was always the first to lend a helping hand. Carolyn's love for her family was unparalleled, and she cherished every moment spent with them, from watching old western classics to enjoying the latest episodes of her favorite soap operas and programs on the Food Network.
Carolyn's social circle was vast, a testament to her friendly and engaging personality. She was blessed with many friends with whom she shared her love of singing, a hobby that brought her immense joy and uplifted those fortunate enough to hear her voice. An animal lover at heart, Carolyn's affection was not reserved for humans alone; her dog Max and her cats were the recipients of her boundless love and care.
Described by those who knew her best as generous, loving, and selfless and had the best sense of humor. Carolyn's legacy is defined by the positive impact she made on the lives of others. Her willingness to give without expecting anything in return was a hallmark of her character, and it is this quality that will be most remembered and deeply missed.
