Carolyn Lee Visser (Hoyt), daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Skinner, was born on Dec. 24, 1941 and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 at the age of 66. Ms. Visser (Hoyt) was of the Baptist faith. She loved crafts, cooking, fishing, UNC basketball, and spending time with her grandchildren. She spent most of her life in West Michigan and recently moved to Popular Bluff, Mo full time. She worked l6 years at Hart & Cooley, Inc. before retiring from the Target department store in Holland, Michigan. Her children wrote, "Mom lived her life with kindness, generosity, and an unashamed faith. Though she is gone from our sight, her legacy and life will live on through her family." Survivors include five children; Son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Sue Hoyt of Horn Lake, Ms., daughter, Deb Pitcher of Saugatuck, MI, son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Tracy Hoyt of McCordsville, IN., son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Denise Hoyt of Popular Bluff, MO, daughter and son-in-law, Melissa nd Bob Budham of Allegan, MI, two brothers: Jim and Nicki Skinner of Holland, MI, Ken and Sue Skinner of Fennville, MI;, l5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Doug Hoyt and a sister, Donna Jean Holton. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 at the Chappell Funeral Home in Fennville, MI. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 p.m. with committal at the Fennville City Cemetery.
