Carol Margaret Huyser, age 90, of Hamilton, Michigan, peacefully passed away on July 31, 2026. She was born on January 16, 1936, in Rockford, Michigan, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her students, her church, and her community. 

Carol graduated from Rockford High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. She carried the values of hard work, kindness, and service throughout her life, and those qualities became the foundation of her long and meaningful career. She was a teacher for almost 50 years, serving students in the Allegan and Fennville Public Schools. Her dedication to education touched countless lives, and she was remembered by many for her patience, encouragement, and steady commitment to helping young people learn and grow. 

Beyond the classroom, Carol gave generously of her time and energy to the community she loved. She was active in service through Saugatuck United Methodist Church and also contributed her time to the Manlius Township Planning Commission. She believed in being involved, staying connected, and making a difference wherever she could. Carol also enjoyed many meals at area restaurants with friends, where her warm personality and easy conversation made every gathering special. 

Family was at the center of Carol’s life. She is survived by her son, Mark Huyser and his wife Stacey, and by her daughter-in-law, Alice Huyser. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Lisa Huyser, Tianna Doe, Mariah Huyser, Joshua Huyser, and Nathaniel Huyser, as well as her great-grandchildren, Brayden, Caleb, Cooper, and Luke. She is survived by her sisters Anne Marie Betz and Robin Briggs with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will cherish her memory. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 68 years, Harris Huyser, whose companionship and love were a central part of her life. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Huyser, and by her parents, Robert and Beatrice Starr. In addition, she was preceded in death by two brother-in-laws. 

Her legacy lives on in the family she loved, the students she taught, the friends she cherished, and the community she served so faithfully. Carol Margaret Huyser will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
