Obituary

Carl Ivar Setterberg Jr. (Fennville, MI ) formerly of Westmont, Illinois, passed away on January 20, 2010 at the age of 84. He was born on August 27, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Carl and Florence (Wenstrom) Setterberg. He was a Sargent in the United State's Army during WWII. After attending Industrial School for three years as a bricklayer's apprentice, he joined his father as a bricklayer mason in Chicago, IL for the next 25 years. In 1966 he was employed as a fireman oiler for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago until he retired in 1986. Following his retirement he moved to Fennville to be near family. Carl enjoyed taking pictures, listening to big band music, working on celebrity puzzles, visiting lighthouses and taking drives in his car. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Florence, his sister Eveline Daleiden Otto, two brother in law's Milo Daleiden and Donald Otto, and niece Barbara Birkholz. Surviving is his niece, Lois Daleiden (Lansing, MI), two great nephews Mike Birkholz (Winder, GA) and Mark Birkholz (Denver, CO), a great niece Michele Lyons (Holland, MI), four great great nephews and one great great niece and many lifelong friends in Illinois. Military services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010 at the Chappell Funeral Home in Fennville, and burial will be in Fennville Cemetery.
