James Webster Boyce "Jimmer", age 63, passed away from a brief battle with cancer on April 2, 2017. He is survived by his son James "Mac" M. Boyce and wife Jennifer, daughter Maria E. Boyce, his mother Margaret "Peggy" Boyce, sisters Catherine Brockington, Victoria Boyce, Linda Kinnaman (Mark), Virginia Berghuis (Gordon), brothers Robert Boyce (Kristyn), Michael Boyce, and Christopher Boyce, his dog Harriet, his cat Elly, cousins in Michigan and California, and extended nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father James Boyce III. Jimmer was born in Douglas, MI on April 7, 1953. He graduated from Saugatuck High School in 1971; Jimmer attended GVSU briefly before transferring to Muskegon Community College to join the police academy. He was a Saugatuck police officer and went on to join the Allegan County Sheriffs Office as a deputy for nine years. Jimmer recently retired from Kalamazoo Lake Sewer & Water Authority after 24 years of being a field supervisor. He was a voracious reader, a Civil War re-enactor, a loving father, brother, and son. Visitation will be held from 1pm-2pm at The First Congregational Church, in Saugatuck, MI, on Friday, April 7th. A memorial service will held following the visitation.
