Bobby Lee "Bob" Van Dine, aged 64, of Douglas, Michigan, passed away on December 28, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family in Saugatuck, Michigan. Born on April 4, 1959, to a close-knit community, Bob grew into a man known for his handy skills, quick wit, and warm, friendly nature.

Bob's life was a testament to the love he had for his family and the joy he found in simple pleasures. He is survived by his loving partner, Pat Kuker, with whom he shared 20 years of faithful partnership and countless cherished moments. His legacy continues through his proud children, Bobby Lee Van Dine Jr.  (Jordan Ooms) and April Blair (David); stepchildren Kelly Dorn, Nicole Borgman, Jennifer Black, Joshua Van Slooten (Alyssa), Kyle Van Slooten Jr., and Dylan Van Slooten (Taja) who will forever hold dear the lessons and laughter he imparted. His grandchildren Teagan, and Trestin Blair, and 16 step-grandchildren were the apples of his eye, and he delighted in watching them grow and explore the world.  He is also survived by his mother, Bonnie C. Hopkins; siblings, Louis Van Dine (Jackie), Anthony Van Dine, Angela Barnes, Barbara Myers (Tom), Jackie Harbison, Georgieanna Straub (Charles), Terry Lou Barnes (Mike), and Dale E. Hopkins Jr., they will miss his presence at family gatherings, where his stories and jokes were a highlight. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

He is proceeded in death by his dad, Dale E. Hopkins.

A man of many interests, Bob could often be found tinkering with projects that caught his fancy, including his prized yellow Corvette, which was a symbol of his love for craftsmanship and adventure. His passion for John Deere tractors, ice-cold beer, roaring bonfires, and the freedom of riding motorcycles reflected his appreciation for the great outdoors and the camaraderie of friends and family.

Bob's career was as diverse and colorful as his hobbies. His knack for fixing things and his creative spirit meant he was always involved in multiple projects, leaving a trail of innovation and improvement wherever he went. His association with various groups allowed him to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others, further enriching the community he held so dear.

To know Bob was to know laughter and friendship. His easygoing nature and ability to find humor in everyday situations made him a beloved figure in his community. He had the rare gift of making everyone feel at home, and his presence was a comfort to those around him.

As we bid farewell to Bob Van Dine, we celebrate a life lived with zest and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. His memory will be a beacon of joy and a reminder to cherish the simple moments that make life beautiful. Bob's spirit will continue to inspire us, and his stories will be told for generations to come, ensuring that his legacy endures.  A celebration of life will be held on January 6, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the Fennville VFW hall located at 2373, 53rd Street, Fennville MI 49408.
