Beulah Mae Blanchard 87 of Pullman, Michigan (known to loved ones as "Boots") died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at her home. Born on April 10, 1924 in Casco Township Allegan County, Michigan she was the daughter of William A. and Ethel (Welch) VanBlarcum. Beulah was a 1942 graduate of South Haven High School and worked as a postal clerk for the US Postal Service in Pullman, Michigan. She loved flowers, birds (especially Cardinals) and anything purple. She loved her family and always hosted Christmas Eve at her home and also the annual family reunion in August. She was a member of the Pullman Congregational Church, a member of the Radiant Rebekah Lodge # 307 since 1946, and Energy Lodge #509 IOOF of Pullman since 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband T.C. Blanchard on March 16, 2002. Surviving are her children, Sally (Ray) Lacy of Pullman, Nancy (John) Winks of Grandville, Michigan, David (Julie) Blanchard of Pullman, 5 grandchildren Tammy (Brent) Falor, Erika (Tom) Goldstein, Tracey (Brandon) Vanderhorst, Rich Blanchard, and Karrie (Alan) Chapman, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, sister, Patricia (Martin) Suhr of Albuquerque, New Mexico, sisters-in-law, Marian Lyman of Douglas, Louise Hoyt of Climax, and many extended family members. The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the support and care recieved from everyone at Wings of Hope Hospice. At her request cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial visitation Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 2-5 p.m. at the Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville, Michigan.
