Obituary

Betty Lou Logsdon, age 90 passed away on December 22, 2018 at her Holland residence. Betty was born on April 23, 1928 in South Haven to Jay and Ruby Hadaway and raised in the Glenn area. She graduated from South Haven High School and then attended Allegan County Normal for teacher's training. She ultimately obtained a Bachelor's degree in Education from Western Michigan University. Betty was a school teacher, teaching for a total of 29 years at Douglas, Glenn, Pullman and Fennville Schools and was much loved by her students. In her retirement Betty traveled with her husband for several years before health issues caused them to move from their home near Glenn to a retirement community in Holland. Betty loved to mentor women and give advice, calling herself the "Ann Landers" of Glenn. She also loved to bake and try new recipes. Entertaining and feeding people well were very important to her and no one would leave her table hungry. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Philip, who passed away in 2013. She is survived by her son, Mark (June) Logsdon of Holland, daughter, Kathleen Logsdon (Ron Van Lente) of South Haven, two grandchildren: Anne (Jacob) Clarkson of McKean, PA, Daniel (Jessica) Schoeneich of Benton Harbor and six great grandchildren: Brennan, Andrew, Lila, Aiden and Henry.
