Arden J. Miser, age 86, of Douglas, MI passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, MI. Born December 12, 1929 in Lansing, MI, he was the son of Howard and Mabel (Flint)-Miser. Arden was proud to serve his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War and is a member of the "Chosin Few". Arden retired from Spartan Stores as a Sales Merchandiser after many years of service. He was a member of the Holland V.F.W. Post 2144. Arden is preceded in death by his parents, and son Craig Miser. Surviving are his loving wife, Gwendolyn Miser of Douglas, MI; children Scott and Joyce Miser of Penrose, NC, Julie and Nick Saputo of Fennville, MI, Jeffrey and Grainne Miser of Ashville, NC, Lisa and Robert Engel of Douglas, MI, and Lori and Marc Schrotenboer of Hamilton, MI; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville, MI. Chaplin Gary Bronson from The International Association of Community Service Chaplains will officiate. Arden will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI.
