Obituary

Anthony (Andy) John Anderson Sr., beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on April 9, 2025, at the age of 55 in Norton Shores, Michigan. Born on July 1, 1969, in Sycamore, Illinois, Anthony, was born Anthony Earl Malone to Emma Jean and Earl Wayne Malone.

Well known as Andy to his friends and family, Andy was Adopted at an early age by his father Loren Anderson and beloved late mother Janice Anderson. Andy loved his parents and the foundation they gave him growing up in Canton, Mi. Andy was an exceptional wrestler in high school; he enjoyed passing on those skills to his sons and watched their matches with such pride and excitement. Watching his boys and their close friends dominate the matt, or the football field was an exciting time in his life. He loved those Friday night lights!

Andy was the beloved son of Loren and Jan Anderson, a caring brother to Timothy (Melinda) Anderson, Amy Anderson, and the late Laurie Anderson Soper. The Anderson family was extremely cherished, always a phone call away. He took immense pride in his role as a loving father to his sons, AJ and Michael Anderson. His joy only multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Nova, and John Anderson III, who he treasured so much in his heart.

Andy lived life to his best and had a strong will to be successful in life. He was a risk taker and did not worry about taking them-because he knew things would always work out one way or another. Working his way through many jobs in his lifetime, Andy's first work was that of an exceptionally talented landscaper that no-one really knew about until they saw his meticulously kept yard. Andy was a man of great skill and craftsmanship; he was a certified welder with expert skills in Unlimited Thickness. His work was not just a job but a testament to his meticulous nature and his commitment to excellence. His colleagues knew him as a man who could be relied upon, a mentor who was always ready to lend a hand or share his knowledge. He was never afraid of massive structures, and he loved a great challenge.

Beyond his professional life, Andy was a man of many interests and talents. He had a particular fondness for the holidays, with Christmas being his favorite time of the year. His home was known for its spectacular display of Christmas lights, which brought smiles to the faces of both young and old in his community. A lover of delicious food, Andy was a BBQ aficionado, often found tending to his grill, perfecting his recipes, and sharing his culinary creations with family and friends.

Fishing, Nascar and Football were weekend passions and pass times. He found solace and joy in the quiet moments by the water, and excitement and fun times in the enthusiasm of Nascar and sports. He cherished the many memories he made taking his boys to the racetrack. Andy was also the quintessential handy man. From fixing a leaky faucet to remodeling a room, he approached each project with enthusiasm and precision. His skills extended to the outdoors, where his love for landscaping highlighted in the beautiful garden oasis he created and tended to with love.

Described by those who knew him best as Handy Andy; a man who could fix anything. His resourcefulness and creativity were unmatched, and his ability to solve problems was a trait that many admired and relied upon.

As we remember Anthony John Anderson Sr., we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the countless memories he created with those who were fortunate enough to know him. Andy's spirit will continue to live on through his family, his work, and the many lives he touched.

Andy's life will be honored and remembered in a private ceremony attended by his family and close friends on Saturday 5/24/25 at the Anderson's home, 5522 124th Ave Fennville.

"We take comfort in knowing that Dad is now at peace, reunited with his sister Laurie and dear mother Jan Anderson as well as his Malone Family that he always longed to see again".
