Obituary

Anna May Skaggs, 61, of Fennville, MI passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 6, 2020. Born November 2, 1958 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha (McElyea) Skaggs. Anna was a natural with children and had worked many years as a childcare provider in the Fennville area. She also loved to watch the Fennville Marching Band perform. She was huge fan of Elvis Presley and had an impressive collection of porcelain dolls. Anna enjoyed spending time crocheting and often gifted her sisters with scarves and afghans. She will also be remembered as an excellent cook. Anna is survived by her sisters, Brenda Skaggs, Diane Valentine, Cathy Skaggs, Loretta (Jim) Brown, Rhonda (Randy) Poortvliet and Nicky Skaggs; her brother-in-law, Frank Valentine; and many nieces and nephews whom were like her own children and she was proud to have helped raise. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ida May Valentine; brother-in-law, Dale Valentine; nephew, Frankie Valentine; niece, Heather Sue Valentine; and her great-nephews, Cody Valentine. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
