Allen Eugene Lugers, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at the age of 80, in his hometown of Holland, Michigan. Born on Christmas Day in 1944 to Harvey and Johanna Lugers, Allen's life was a testament to his enduring love for his family, his country, and the great outdoors.
After honorably serving four years in the United States Navy, Allen returned to Holland, where he met and married the love of his life, Donna (Thomas) Lugers. Together, they shared 47 years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising their two daughters, Mindy and Carrie. Allen's legacy continues through his four grandchildren, Jobe DesArmo, Jaelin Lugers, Regan Stendel, and Rowan Stendel, and his cherished great-grandchild, whose presence brought him immense happiness.
Allen's professional life was marked by his dedication and skill as a foreman at Allen Extruder in Holland, where he retired after many years of service. His work ethic and leadership were an inspiration to his colleagues, and his contributions to the industry were widely respected.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Allen was known for his remarkable handiness. A true jack of all trades, he had an innate ability to repair anything that came his way. His interests in hunting, fishing, carpentry, and mechanics were not only hobbies but also ways in which he expressed his creativity and ingenuity. Allen's love for tinkering and building was only matched by his love for his family, whom he supported with every fixed toy, mended fence, and crafted piece of furniture.
Allen's three sisters, Beverly Costigan, Kathy Gusler, and Mary Martinez, will remember him as a steadfast brother who was always ready with a helping hand or a word of advice. His presence in their lives was a source of strength and comfort.
Allen was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Harvey and Johanna Lugers, and his devoted wife, Donna Lugers. His memory will be held dear by those who survive him, as they recall his unwavering support, his generous spirit, and the countless ways he enriched their lives.
