Alice Elaine VanPlew, 90,of Douglas, died Monday, April 4, 2005, in Holland Hospital. Born in Chicago, she had been employed by the State of Michigan and retired from the State Technical Institute at Pine Lake. She was a member of Emmaus Road Bible Church. Her husband, Everett preceded her in death in 1958. Surviving are her children Bill and Patti Renkema, Denny and Kristie VanPlew, and Judy and Bruce Grams, all of Fennville; 10 grandchildren;26 great-grandchildren;a sister-in-law, Eleanore Starks of South Haven;a niece and nephews. A memorial service is planned for Monday, April 18, 2005 at Emmaus Road Bible Church, 4001 M-89, Allegan, with Rev. David Nightingale officiating. Burial will be in Fennville Cemetry.
