Pauline Lee Obituary

Pauline J. Lee has gone to her Lord after a brief illness. Born Pauline Mae Johnson to Louis A. and Mildred (Barrett) Johnson, April 21, 1920, in Pearl, MI, Polly attended MSU where she met met husband, Harrison Alger (Al) Lee. Married in 1942, they moved to Saugatuck, purchasing the Elms Hotel after Al served in the Navy during WWII. They purchased Bob's Sport Shop on North River Avenue in Holland, eventually moving to West 8th Street where it flourished until 1989. Bored with retirement, she worked at Country House Lady's Fashions for several years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton chapter, and First Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Al; sister and brother-in-law, Kirby and Florine Gooding; brother and sister-in-law, Crosby and Betty Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Patricia Johnson; son-in-law Carl C. Clarke; and granddaughter, Angel. She is survived by her children, Rebecca Lee (Carl) Clarke of Alpena, Jon H. (Peg) Lee, and Timothy A. (Pam) Lee, all of Kanakee, IL, Randall K. (Theresa) Lee of Douglas, Robert E. Lee of Fennville; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation with family will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday, October 13 at Ganges Baptist Church, 6577 122nd Ave, Fennville, MI 49408. Services to follow at 11am, with a lunch after. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Red Cross. Charitable donations may be made to: American Red Cross P.O.
