Obituary for Therman DeWayne Franklin

Therman DeWayne Franklin, 74, of Fennville, MI passed away Monday, July 9, 2019 at his home with his family by his side. Born April 19, 1945 in Rector, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Mitchem) Franklin. Mr. Franklin was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He served his country honorably and courageously as a member of the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. Mr. Franklin retired from Bohn Aluminum in South Haven after twenty-nine years of dedicated employment. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and taking trips to the casino. Above all else, however, Mr. Franklin was a man with a huge heart who loved nothing more than being with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his four children, Tammy (Steve) Vickery, Jeff Franklin, Tonya (Keith) Adams and Tina Franklin; a brother, Ralph (Wanita)Franklin; fourteen grandchildren, Brad Vickery, Kyle Vickery, Nathan Vickery, Melissa Franklin, Keith Adams, Jr., Pierre Wesley, Tigris Street, Tasha Street, Nick Franklin, Dustin Gonzales, Roy Cline, Michael Cline, Travis Cline and Nikki Franklin; seven great-grandchildren and two more on the way. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Geneva Morgan, Virgie Edwards and Herman "Pete" Franklin; and his grandson, William Joseph Cline.

The family will receive friends at Chappell Funeral Home, Fennville, on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A funeral service with military honors will take place on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta.
