Janice Lynn McFarland, 68, of Fennville, MI passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 at her home. Born February 6, 1952 in Flint, MI, she was the daughter of the late James and Darline Janice (Chapelle) Taylor and was the wife of the late James Darrell McFarland. Janice had worked as a medical assistant for over 20 years. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.

Janice is survived by her partner, Jack Sims; children, Carrie Lynn Martin of Fennville, James Mark McFarland of Fennville and Joshua and Tammy McFarland of Wyoming, MI; grandchildren, Jenna, Samantha, Katelyn, Hailey, Hayden and Alex; great-grandchildren, Bella and James; sisters, Char and John Bekken and Bethany and Rick Goodrich; brothers, Fred and Karen Taylor, Ed and Ruth Taylor, Steve Taylor, Randy and Laura Taylor, Scott Taylor and Gary and Kammi Taylor; and many, many nieces and nephews. Her brother, Larry Taylor, preceded her in death several years ago.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 15, 2020. The time and place will be announced once those arrangements are finalized. Contributions may be made to the family to be used to obtain the memorial plaque at Restlawn Cemetery where Janice will be laid to rest beside her late husband.

β€πŸ’šπŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ’›β€πŸ’šπŸ’œπŸ’™On Saturday August 15 @ Johnson Village Clubhouse 2734 68th st Fennville, MI 49408 from 2-5p.m. will be the Celebration of Life/Memorial gathering for our mom Jan McFarland. Lunch will be catered as we are following the safety guidelines due to covid19. We ask that everyone 12 and older wear a face mask until seated. There will be a one way entrance and one way exit with hand sanitizer at entryway, we will also be providing mask if needed. Tables and chairs are being set up indoors and outdoors accordingly following the CDC recommended guidelines and to accommodate immediate families being able to sit together. Ofcourse we ask anyone sick or not feeling well to please stay home. Following dinner we will be going to West side County park 2152 Lake Shore Dr. fennville MI 49408 for a small 🎈 balloon/ lantern send off in honor of our mother. Anyone is welcome to join. I will never forget the many times Aunt Jan snuck up behind me and hugged me. I knew it was her because she gave the best hugs. She told me so many great stories about her, JD and my parents growing up. These are just a few of the many beautiful memories I have of her. She will be greatly missed!
