Leon Arthur Billings, age 86 of Fennville, Michigan passed away Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Hospice House in Holland. Leon was born on September 21, 1925 in Allegan County, Michigan to Arthur and Inez (Leverich) Billings. He was a US Army veteran of WW II, and lifetime resident of the Fennville area working as a mechanic and farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Billings December 20, 2010. Leon is survived by his sons, Larry (Dixie) Billings, Keith (Mary) Billings, Brian (Connie) Billings of Fennville, Michigan, Alan (Susan) Billings of South Haven, Michigan, daughters, Betty Barnes, Sally (Kevin) Carney of Fennville, Michigan, Carol Sisson of Hudsonville, Michigan, sister, Jean Batey of Fennville, Michigan, 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in Leon’s honor at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, Michigan 49408, officiating will be Ms. Marcia Tucker, and burial will be in the Pearl Cemetery. Leon’s family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to Hospice of Holland 270 Hoover Blvd. Holland, Michigan 49423.
